The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Database Architect with strong understanding of data security to take ownership of designing, upgrading, and securing the data architecture of our cloud-based SaaS platform. We are looking for a candidate with a expert level knowledge of database design, data governance, and security standard methodologies.

What You Need to Succeed
  • Database Architecture & Design:
    • Design scalable, highly available, and secure data architectures.
    • Model complex data flows and relationships using best practices in normalization/denormalization.
    • Define and maintain enterprise data standards, schemas, and metadata.
  • Performance & Scalability:
    • Analyze and tune SQL queries and database performance.
    • Plan capacity and implement sharding, partitioning, and indexing strategies.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Implement robust security models (e.g., RBAC, encryption at rest/in transit).
    • Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).
  • Disaster Recovery & High Availability:
    • Design and maintain HA/DR strategies using replication, clustering, and backup plans.
    • Partner with infrastructure teams to ensure RTO/RPO requirements are met.
  • Tooling & Automation:
    • Use IaC (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD for provisioning and deployment of DBs.
    • Automate monitoring, alerting, and failover.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Application Architects, Security Teams, DevOps, and Business Analysts.
    • Provide guidance to developers on best practices for schema design and data access patterns.
  • Technology Stack:
    • Databases:MySQL (preferred), PostgreSQL, SQL, Oracle, MongoDB
    • Cloud Platforms:AWS (RDS, Aurora), Azure (SQL Database), GCP (Cloud SQL)
    • Tools:Flyway, Liquibase, Terraform, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus
    • Languages:SQL, Python, Shell scripting
Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Leadership in guiding database governance and architecture reviews.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $170,500 -- $320,000 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
