PURPOSE OF POSITION: To service, maintain, and prepare all snowmaking equipment from snowmaking guns, hydrants, pipe, pumps, and compressor's. Once snowmaking starts then it is to maintain, move and set up snow guns and hoses for extensive snowmaking operation. Make rounds in vehicles and/or snowmobiles to monitor weather conditions during snowmaking. Once Snowmaking is complete, transfer to Grooming to provide a smooth skiing surface and consistent snow density and distribution in order to enhance the guest's enjoyment and maximize their safety.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be in excellent physical condition, able to lift and carry 80 pounds

* Able to walk on steep terrain and climb snow gun towers

* Must be safety conscious and have a mechanical aptitude

* Heavy equipment experience preferred

* Understanding or development of snowmaking/removal objectives and techniques

* Receptive and responsive to instruction

* Dependable and able to work well with others

* Physically fit and a tolerance for working in extreme conditions

* Mechanical aptitude

* Concentration and hand eye coordination skills

* Must be willing to work swing and graveyard shift

* Must provide our basic tool kit

* Must have reliable transportation for extreme conditions

* Must have a phone to maintain communication

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Do maintenance and troubleshooting of snowmaking guns, pipes and hydrants.

* Operate heavy machinery and ATV'S

* Hike trails and inspect/repair hydrants

* Assist in removing and installing pumps and motors.

* Competently and conscientiously perform the required equipment inspections and servicing and record results accurately and completely

* Safe operation of snowmaking equipment, snowmobiles, and snow cats

* Must be responsive to direction and instruction while training and performing assignments

* Become familiar and competent with Deer Valley snowmaking equipment and techniques

* Provide acceptable results while operating equipment on which one has been trained

* Quickly and accurately report any problem with the product or equipment which arises

* Assist co-workers with minor equipment repairs

* Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities

* Exhibit professional conduct and proper radio etiquette

* Provide the best product possible and concentrate on improving techniques

* Other duties as assigned
