Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

To maintain the facility and/or production machinery in good
repair and working order.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Operate machines such as lathes, saws, and grinders

Modify parts and materials to improve overall production

Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring
instruments

Maintains or repairs production machines (to include
headers, threadrollers, trimmers, belt sorters, pumps, and furnaces).

Conducts preventative maintenance on production machinery and/or
the facility (building).

Performs minor facility repair, such as electrical,
painting, plumbing, etc.

Strictly adheres to all health and safety procedures.

Performs records keeping, as required.

The PayScale for this position ranges from $27.64 to $51.44 per hour

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES:

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all
units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Other Competencies:

Strong attention to detail

Good understanding and knowledge
of blueprints.

Able to use calipers/micrometers
height gauges and other Inspection equipment.

Good communication abilities.

Familiarity with machine tools and
equipment.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to perform routine duties where a
high level of independent judgment and action are required.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.

Physical
Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or
hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms
and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to
sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to
10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth
perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work
Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally
exposed to high places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the
work environment can be moderate to very loud.
