Job Summary
Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge to perform receiving procedures to receive and ensure purchased items are received and processed into the material system and delivered to the warehouse, receiving inspection and production departments as required.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Performs tests and inspections of products and processes that are moderately complex to complex relative to receiving parts and materials into the company material system. Inspections require experience and judgment to determine plans and actions from standard procedural alternatives.
- Inspects incoming materials, products and receiving inspection documents such as detail parts, metal products, fasteners and like items for conformance to specifications. Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds. Tests mechanisms for clearance and freedom of movement.
- Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly. Verifies specified dimensions of product or material. Tests parts for hardness and products for structural defects such as leaks and internal cracks.
- Determines dimensional accuracy of installation of components using non-precision and precision measuring instruments to ensure that specified tolerances are met. Signs inspection records to approve unit, or records reasons for rejecting unit.
- Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag.
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment. |

Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
