Job Summary:

This role will focus on both business intelligence and operational pricing support. The Business Intelligence Analyst I will support the Wholesale Valuations Pricing team, as well as broader strategic partners in the wholesale disposal space, maintain the flow of offers through our pipeline, monitor key market trends, and use analytical techniques to improve valuation accuracy and operational efficiency. This role is also responsible for building and maintaining tools to enhance the pricing pipeline, both providing data for our teams in their daily jobs as well as analyzing the historical performance of both the business and pricing practitioners.

Acquires, synthesizes and organizes business data from internal and external sources. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business need and required or available data elements. Provides consultation to users on optimal methods to access, analyze and derive meaning from produced datasets and reports. May analyze complex business issues, construct forecasts, recommendations and strategic / tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Contributes to development and ensures ongoing application of date governance structures and controls.

1. Business Intelligence Fundamentals:

  • Gain familiarity with key Business Intelligence concepts, practices, and methodologies.
  • Under guidance, learn and execute Business Intelligence Analyst duties.


2. Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Gather, synthesize, and analyze data from internal and external sources to generate comprehensive reports and insights for the Wholesale Valuation Operations team.
  • Develop, standardize, and distribute datasets and reports to designated leaders and teams.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of business performance measures-including revenue, marketplace dynamics, and competitor trends-and provide consultative support on data interpretation.


3. Technical Support and Data Management:

  • Assist in the development and enhancement of data pipelines, workflows, and queries.
  • Manage the flow of information, ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and availability.
  • Ensure all analytical processes adhere to established data governance standards and protocols.


4. Valuation Operations Support:

  • Analyze vehicle acquisition costs, reconditioning expenses, and other relevant factors to determine the true cost of each vehicle.
  • Regularly review and adjust wholesale pricing based on market feedback, sales performance, and inventory levels.
  • Conduct reactive exploration and mitigation of losses through detailed reporting and analysis.
  • Manage touchpoints with boundary partners to address escalations and integrate process improvements.
  • Provide operational support to client-facing personnel through relationship building and on-demand contact.
  • Support Wholesale Valuation Operations sale day duties and responsibilities.


5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with team members and colleagues to deliver on assigned projects and analyses.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and boundary partner teams to understand business priorities and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Clearly communicate findings and insights, ensuring that recommendations are actionable and aligned with business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years' experience in a related field
  • Understanding methods, techniques, and tools used for data analysis (SQL, Tableau, and Excel are a plus).
  • Basic proficiency with Tableau or other BI tools to develop straightforward dashboards or charts.
  • Understanding data wrangling, feature engineering, and the fundamentals of quality assurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to interpret data patterns, break down business problems, and propose basic solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, open to feedback, share progress and ask questions to ensure alignment with team goals.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Desire to continually learn and grow analytical skillset.
  • Other duties as needed or required

USD 54,200.00 - 81,400.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $54,200.00 - $81,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
