Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring an Assistant-Receptionist in Salem, Virginia at our corporate headquarters. The Assistant (Receptionist) is responsible for greeting customers, visitors and guests; determining nature of business and directing visitors to the appropriate location; operating the switchboard and maintaining telephone listing information. The Assistant-Receptionist also provides clerical assistance to the Human Resources. Seeking candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in an office environment preferred.
Requirements for the Assistant position include:
Physical requirements must be met for the Assistant job, including regularly being required to sit for prolonged periods of time, and talk or hear. The employee is often required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
