General Summary of Position Department: Otolaryngology Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM Job Summary: MedStar Health is looking for a Patient Navigator to join our team at MedStar Georgetown Physician Group in Otolaryngology. This position is responsible for the coordination of patient care, scheduling, and provide administrative support to physicians and staff. This role serves as a patient advocate, ensuring smooth access to care and assisting patients and families throughout their healthcare journey. Primary Duties: * Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, including office visits, specialists, pre- and post-operative, and procedural appointments. * Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure seamless care. * Provide administrative support, including answering phones, managing calendars, and composing documents. * Handle referral calls and streamline access to care. * Maintain patient records and upload relevant documents into the EHR system. * Communicate pre-visit information to patients, including financial responsibility and necessary preparations. * Assist with scheduling and communicating surgical and procedural information to the team and patients. * Participate in meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts. Minimum Qualifications: * Education: Associate's degree * CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO AN APPROPRIATE COMBINATION OF EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE * Experience: Previous experience as a Patient Registrar or Administrative Assistant in a medical clinical office is preferred.
