Operations Supervisor (Full Time)

Reports To: Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations including facilitation of internal communication between field staff and management, outside agency interface, system status monitoring, facilitating short-term scheduling needs, equipment and supply maintenance, as well as other operational support functions as assigned by the Manager of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct, monitor, communicate with and evaluate all field employees in his/her assigned area.
  • Liaison with patients, public safety agencies, training institutions, hospital personnel, and other system users.
  • Ensure maintenance of quality field operations through daily contact, oversight, communication, and evaluation.
  • Prepare employee evaluations and field crew contact reports.
  • Provide staff counseling and guidance and information regarding AMR operations.
  • Promptly investigates incidents involving assigned units or personnel, including, filing of internal and external reports, and counseling staff.
  • Ensure maintenance of adequate levels of staffing, equipment and medical supplies for field units.
  • Responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal employment laws and company policies. (i.e., Americans with Disability Act, Affirmative Action Plan, etc.)
  • Prepare reports and manages projects as assigned by Operations Manager or Director of Operations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Oversee in-house and contracted vendors for supplies and services required.
  • Order and maintain appropriate stocking quantities of consumable supplies required for ambulances.
  • Reviews, verifies, approves and/or submits for approval invoices and purchase requisitions related to all materials, fleet maintenance, and building maintenance departments.
  • Maintains appropriate budgetary costs for materials, fleet maintenance and building maintenance.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate city, county, and state licensing with appropriate agencies.
  • Maintain Vehicle Service Technician schedule.
  • Monitor training of Vehicle Service Technicians.
  • Coordinate and oversee distribution of consumable supplies for outlying stations.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with vendors for building maintenance needs and services.
  • Coordinate, when needed, repairs and maintenance of building.
  • Monitor and maintain current vehicle licensing and registration with local and state regulating agencies.
  • Track, analyze and report unscheduled vehicle down time.
  • Inspect and review company vehicles on a routine basis to ensure compliance with AMR standards for fleet appearance, safety and performance and compliance with regulatory agency specifications.
  • Prepare and compile various periodic reports and documents for review and analysis by executive staff.
  • Coordinates receipt, delivery and preparation of new vehicles for deployment.
  • Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results. Champion affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc. Responsible for compliance with and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • EMS Field Experience
  • Current Paramedic or EMT certification/all other required certifications
  • Driving policy in compliance with AMR policy regarding insurability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Science or Arts in Business, Healthcare or Appropriate Field of Study
  • At least 6 months of past supervisory experience
  • At least 6 months Associate's Supervisor and/ Field Training officer experience or Instructor experience
  • Experience as a SSC or EMD
  • Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality

Salary range: $90,000- $98,0000. DOE this rate applies to 12/hr shift and average 49 hours per week
