Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services' experts create solutions customized to the client's needs.

Summary:

The Data Manager V will oversee the management, integrity, and security of data assets within the Division of Viral Diseases (DVD). This role involves developing and implementing data management policies, ensuring data quality, and leading data-related projects to support the mission of preventing disease, disability, and death from viral diseases through immunization and other prevention measures.

This position is located Atlanta, GA with partial remote work.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards. Develop and enforce data governance policies to maintain data quality, privacy, and security.
  • Design and implement data validation processes to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems. Monitor and maintain data quality by identifying and correcting issues such as duplicates, missing data, or errors.
  • Manage the organization's data architecture, data storage, and database management systems. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data systems are optimized, secure, and scalable.
  • Develop and implement strategies for collecting, storing, and analyzing data to support business needs. Work with leadership teams to align data initiatives with organizational goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead a team of data analysts and data professionals, providing guidance, training, and support. Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to ensure proper data usage and reporting.
  • Work closely with departments such as epidemiology, laboratory research, and public health to ensure data is aligned with operational goals. Communicate data-related insights to non-technical teams and senior management to influence decision-making.
  • Record and document findings in detailed reports and present results to colleagues, stakeholders, and at scientific conferences.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific research and advancements in data management and viral diseases.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL or Python, and data visualization software including Microsoft Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Healthcare-related field, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology, with 5+ years of experience in data management, data integration and visualizations; OR Master's degree in Healthcare related field, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology, with 8+ years of experience in data management, data integration and visualizations.
  • Previous experience with next-generation sequencing data.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
