Construction Superintendent - Renewable Energy

SCS Engineers is looking for a Construction Superintendent to join our Renewable Energy Division. The division focuses on renewable energy design/build/operate projects in the renewable biogas and renewable power markets. SCS Energy's biogas-to-energy facilities currently operating, or currently under design or construction, will remove more than 2,000,000 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Our projects help a diversified client base achieve their renewable energy goals by reducing their carbon footprint and creating useful by-products from waste material. SCS builds systems that power universities, wastewater treatment plants and dairies; generate renewable natural gas sales; and support electric utilities.

You will handle day-to-day site management of the construction of renewable power and gas-processing facilities. Project size will range from $30MM to $70MM. You will work at SCS's various project sites at locations throughout the United States. This is a traveling position and if you have to stay by site then you will rotate home generally once per month.

Leading and managing the on-site construction team, including subcontractors
• Coordinating and overseeing all work on site
• Attending weekly production and scheduling meetings
• Working with SCS safety personnel, ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Ensure compliance with quality standards
• Monitor and report on project progress
• Following the project schedule to ensure deadlines are met
• Ensure contractors are complying with applicable codes, standards and permit requirements
• Liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals
• Ensure job site remains safe, clean and orderly
• Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
• Maintaining records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders and RFIs

• Minimum of 15 years of experience supervising construction projects in a related field required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field is desirable, but not required
• Knowledge of quality, safety and health guidelines for construction job sites
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Project and Word
• Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications and other documents
• Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required
• Must meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electric tools, (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools, (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.), and providing services under various weather conditions
