Job Summary

The CDW Project Manager is a trusted consultant, providing project management expertise across multiple technology stacks and services. Projects are typically of low to medium complexity and incorporate mainstream, legacy and emerging technologies. The Project Manager may independently manage projects, or work within a large program under the guidance of Program Managers. The successful candidate balances scope, schedules, budget and understands how to leverage PMO tools and templates to drive successful business outcomes for the customer. This position works with mixed teams consisting of CDW engineers, CDW sales, other members of CDW cross functional business areas, customer staff and third-party consultants. The CDW Project Manager is a project advocate and relationship builder. They drive successful engagements through negotiation, concise communication, crucial conversations and leadership abilities.

What you will do:

  • As a Project Manager, you will leverage your experience, skillset, and methodologies to understand client's end goals and provide a consultative approach to ensure the solution aligns with the client's strategy. You will act as a trusted consultant to your project team, building relationships with all stakeholders, and ensuring stakeholder expectations are met or exceeded.

  • Independently manage medium to large sized projects, adhering to CDW's project management processes and methodologies. This includes validating initial project scope and estimates, tracking project budgets and resources, managing actuals vs. planned hours, and timely reporting of project financials to stakeholders.

  • Your role involves recognizing the need for negotiations and effectively negotiating changes to achieve stakeholder satisfaction and positive project results. You will work with team members to gather information, determine impacts to the project, and document mitigation steps taken in troubleshooting.

  • Responsible for ensuring all items defined in the CDW Statement of Work are delivered and perform quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle. This includes establishing, monitoring, adjusting, and communicating tasks and associated schedules to the project team, and managing equipment, software, licensing, and outside services procurement and delivery schedules.

  • Take accountability for project results, holding all project team members accountable for their scope of work and schedule commitments. You will instill trust with clients by building strong relationships with stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to diffuse uncomfortable situations, and leading teams to consistently meet project success factors and exceed client expectations.

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices through research, conferences, training seminars, and participation in professional associations, sharing this information across the Services PMO. You will determine the appropriate documentation for projects and manage the quality and delivery of this documentation to clients.

  • Your role requires a clear and concise communication style, the ability to lead and facilitate both live and virtual meetings and adapt your communication style and medium to the audience's needs. You will anticipate client or project needs, communicate potential solutions, and convey CDW experiences and positive outcomes to build client confidence and instill trust. Finally, you will develop and manage a detailed schedule and work plan.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or computer related field, 3 years of experience in Project Management, and 2 years of experience in leading small to medium scale projects in a professional services organization OR

  • 7 years total Information Technology experience, to include 3 years of experience in Project Management, and 2 years of experience in leading small to medium scale projects in a professional services organization.

  • Project management or agile consulting experience as it pertains to advising clients of delivery best practices across multiple technology stacks (e.g., Cloud, Security, Infrastructure)

  • Ability to support presales activities and look for new sales opportunities to help the client achieve organizational goals while growing CDW's portfolio of work.

  • Participate productively in virtual teams in order to improve Project Management processes.

  • Experience Project Managing projects with several technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to take accountability for projects and their results, be fiscally responsible and lead teams to meet project success factors.

  • Working knowledge of one or more formal project management methodologies, proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project/Office.

  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.

  • You will be expected to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. You should be able to balance multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlines. Your role may require working during weekends or off hours to meet client needs.

  • You should be willing to travel up to 25% or as needed to other CDW locations, meetings, and client sites. You must have the ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, multi-task, organize, prioritize, and apply common sense in performing your job. You should also be able to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.

  • PMP and/or Agile Certification(s), a plus.

  • Experience using both Waterfall and Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) to manage projects, a plus.

Pay range: $ 77,000 - $ 106,400, depending on experience and skill set
Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan
