Primary DetailsTime Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The President of Crop is responsible for the strategic leadership of NAU Country Insurance Company (NAU), a QBE Insurance company. The role is accountable for the delivery of consistent performance outcomes for the crop business. This position necessitates utilizing industry expertise, financial acumen, innovation, technology, and fostering relationships with industry stakeholders and clients.

*Work Arrangement: Hybrid
*The salary range for this role is: $454,000 - $682,000

Your new role:

  • Facilitate the execution of the organizational strategy by directing overall profit and loss management, ensuring that business objectives are aligned with broad organizational goals to achieve long-term, comprehensive outcomes.
  • Plan, allocate and manage financial budget by anticipating levers of profitability, expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs, and proactively managing risk and volatility to deliver consistent results for QBE to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility.
  • Utilize high degree of business acumen to drive negotiations and relationships, including government, agents, and producers, surrounding complex risks to ensure agreements and plans contribute to organizational growth and development as a competitive force in the marketplace.
  • Foster long-term, effective client relationships by utilizing individual credibility and extensive industry knowledge to openly communicate with key stakeholders, drive the execution of client-focused solutions and optimize delivery of service.
  • Utilize influential authority by providing leadership knowledge and identifying and communicating opportunities for continuous improvement to enable the development of new business, anticipate market changes, increase retention, meet the needs of internal and external customers and align with business strategy.
  • Lead in a way that fosters innovation by leveraging data and analytics to understand drivers of business performance that continue to advance NAU Country as part of the larger QBE enterprise.
  • Navigate the agent environment and operate with the appropriate level of engagement.
  • Understanding of the Crop insurance legal and regulatory landscape including policy, and procedural development and the Standard Reinsurance Agreement (SRA).
  • Serve as a a credible representative in market facing committees e.g., NCIS,and effectively partner for industry change and representation.

Work Experience:

  • Relevant experience in a senior or executive leadership position leading teams with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Relevant industry or related experience.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong financial acumen and levers of profitability.
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance, fund designation, and risk assignment.
  • Ability to build on a strong cultural foundation and advance the organization's cultural maturity.
  • Ability to lead multifunctional teams (leaders of leaders) through change.
  • Expense management and how to scale efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Multiple Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI).
  • Experience in the Agricultural industry.
