Job Summary:




This position will perform fabrication of Arrowhead Products Composite/Non-Metal components & products. It is a combination of Pressure Test Composites, Press Operator and General Services Specialist (Autoclave).




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Trim and assemble parts/hardware on tooling.
  • Will perform set-up and operation of pressure test equipment by blueprint and/or production planning specifications.
  • Will perform all cleaning assignments as directed by blueprint and/or production planning specifications.
  • Will work with chemicals at elevated temperatures wearing prescribed safety equipment at all times.
  • Will perform set up and shearing of foil material to specified sizes and corrugate as required.
  • Will set up and operate hydraulic presses.
  • Will setup and use molds to form metal foil material into semi-finished insulation blankets.
  • Will identify part defects and make proper corrections.
  • Will perform setup and operation of pressure test equipment.
  • May need to obtain Forklift certification. (General Services)
  • Record all trace ability information of material used and log on shop travelers.
  • Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards.

Specialist level will require the following:



  • Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, curing ovens, autoclaves and select the program to run the autoclave.
  • Will perform spray coating and stripping operations of various parts using build mandrels.
  • Will make sure autoclave is operational and safe by coordinating with maintenance of any issues or preventative maintenance (PM) and will trouble shoot any issues as they arise.
  • Will coordinate with MEs about new or existing programming needs.




Education and Experience:





  • High School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be substituted for education requirement.
  • *Employees must bid into these classifications before progression is allowed to higher levels.
  • **Progression/Bid into Specialist positions requires 3 years minimum in the preceding classification, in the same family, prior to progression/bid.

  • Ability to perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders and production planing documents.
  • Ability to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and scales.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Must be capable of working with tight tolerances such as + or - .001".
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
