Description of Job

This position provides supervision for a unit of 6-12 custodians in the Facilities Management Department. This includes scheduling and prioritizing work assignments, training, providing coaching and feedback, evaluating performance, and administering progressive disciplinary actions. The position is responsible for inventory of equipment and supplies, waste removal and budget management. Uses defined means of college communication to maintain safety of staff and students, i.e. walkie-talkies, cell phone, email, etc. The Custodial Supervisor also performs custodial duties and fills in for absences.

This is for the following shift:
Tuesday - Saturday; 4:00pm-12:30am
Note: This shift is eligible for shift differential - 3 days at 7/5% and 2 days at 20%!!
- Second shift differential rate (7.5%) applies when half or more of the scheduled work hours fall between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
- Weekend differential rate (20%) applies when more than half of the scheduled shift hours fall on a weekend shift. Weekend shifts start at 4:00 pm Friday through 6:00 am Monday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
  • Two (2) years of custodial experience which included supervision, task delegation, and training of custodial staff. (Part-time experience will be pro-rated.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong customer service skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets, for tasks such as scheduling, documenting performance, and email communication.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to train new employees and ensure they fully understand established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of basic budgets and inventory procedures, ensuring efficient resource management and cost control.
  • Prior, relevant state experience
