Title: Sr. Electrical Designer

Job Summary:
- In this role, you will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and processes.
- Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of a project's electrical engineering aspects are met.
Major Responsibilities:
Level 1
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment with limited oversight.
- Performs electrical engineering design, including the development of higher tier documentation, as well as schematics, connection diagrams, load lists, etc.
- Leads multi-disciplinary design teams on projects of moderate complexity.
- Develops material requisitions and specifications for non-standard cable assemblies and provided engineering support to cable manufacture for project requirements and quantities.
- Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of specifications, material requisitions and system descriptions related to design tasks..
- Provide guidance on engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria to expand the skillsets of peers.
- Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations and standards.
Level 2
- When delegated, provides guidance to other electrical engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects.
- Completes electrical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
- Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliabilit.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level 1
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Level 2
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Knowledge of NASA and MIL standards
- Experience in connectorized cable design and fabrication
- Experience in selecting electrical and physical components for control panel design
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and electrical equipment layouts.
- Strong understanding of engineering discipline drawings and system calculations such as short circuit and load-flow.
- Ability to size equipment and perform cable sizing calculations.
- Strong knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
- Experience with ETAP and other industry wide electrical system design tools, such as CAD 2D, and electronic Cable Management System.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, and work well with others and within a team.
- Must be able to collaborate well with other disciplines.
- Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions and multiple tasks.
- Excellent oral & written communications skills.
