JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Berks is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Director of Student Affairs. The Associate Director of Student Affairs (ADSA) directs and oversees the development and operational implementation of extra-curricular programs and special events within the Office of Student Engagement & Leadership, Office of Inclusive Excellence, and various campus-wide initiatives on behalf of Student Affairs as well as lead their staff team to support clubs and organizations and welcome weekend/new student orientation. The ADSA is also one of the primary contacts for care and basic needs requests/referrals and serves in the Division's emergency on-call rotation.

This role supervises a staff team in Student Engagement and Leadership and intentionally collaborates with colleagues within and outside of Student Affairs to promote student success and engagement. This role manages budgets and responds to complex issues that could impact the overall functioning of the unit or campus; promotes student leadership, participation in college decision-making, and enrichment of student life; and facilitates involvement opportunities for our students through co-curricular activities to help strengthen their connection to Penn State.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and leading efforts to engage students in educationally purposeful out-of-class experiences

  • Ensure practices in respective areas are consistent with university system practices

  • Develop collaborative relationships with academic units, community organizations, and other university departments

  • Ensure programs and services are inclusive and meet the needs of the student population

  • Serves as the budget administrator, negotiates contracts, and serves as a signatory

  • Serve on Student Affairs and University-wide committees and working groups

  • Bring together key stakeholders across campus to intentionally plan major campus events well in advance

Education:

  • Minimum Education, Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum Experience, 8+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience

  • Equivalency, An equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
