We're looking for Staff Engineer to join Procore's Product & Technology Team. The Staff Engineer will join Procore's Platform Services Division and be part of our exciting FedRAMP initiative. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of building Procore's next-generation construction platform services, a thrilling opportunity for others to build upon, including Procore developers, analysts, partners, and customers.

As a Staff Engineer, you'll be a key player in shaping the future of Procore. You'll partner with other engineers and product managers across Product & Technology to develop and maintain platform services capabilities that enable SaaS-based products to operate in a FedRAMP-compliant environment. Your passion for distributed systems on the cloud and experience operating and maintaining cloud-based products at scale will be instrumental. This position reports to the Director of Platform Services based in our Austin, TX office.

What you'll do:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of our next-generation network, observability, and secrets platform for the construction industry, primarily focused on building and supporting distributed systems
  • Support our engineering team in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, testing and roll-out, and support.
  • Help identify and propose solutions for technical gaps in our platform by running proof of concepts and experiments.
  • Work alongside our Product, UX, and IT teams, leveraging your experience and expertise in cloud technologies to influence our product roadmap and develop innovative solutions that add capabilities to our tools.
  • As a Staff Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the latest network, observability, and secret technology trends. If you're passionate about staying current and driving innovation, we'd love to hear from you.

What we're looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience as a CKA, CKD, Hashicorp Terraform Associate, or Hashicorp Vault Associate
  • 8+ years of experience building and operating cloud-based, highly available, distributed systems at petabyte scale
  • Experience operating Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience migrating teams to Istio, Vault, and OpenTelemetry
  • Experience provisioning and operating cloud-native tools at scale, such as Istio (Tetrate), Kong, Datadog, Hashicorp Vault
  • Experience and proficiency in managing infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, SSM Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, PCA, etc.)
  • Direct hands-on experience in a FedRAMP-compliant environment is preferred.
QualificationsAdditional Information

Base Pay Range $168,560 - $231,770. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
