Job Summary
The Information Technology Project Manager/Business Analyst is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering cross functional software and process improvements across Marotta Controls. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project objectives are achieved within the defined scope, schedule, and budget. The Project Manager/Business Analyst will play a key role in Marotta's Digital Transformation Program, focused on process improvement, data digitization, and the introduction of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, this role will serve as a liaison between the software end user and the IT development staff.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Analysis


  • Identify suitable projects that benefit from system development and automation
  • Research and recommend innovative solutions and automated approaches for cross divisional implementations
  • Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Define project objectives and success criteria in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage customized software implementation projects through all phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.


Stakeholder and Team Collaboration


  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements and user stories to drive understanding and accountability


  • Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams, business users, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, providing updates on progress, risks, and action plans.


Technical Oversight


  • Coordinate and partner across various IT teams to customize, configure, and deploy solutions.
  • Oversee system testing, data migration, and validation processes to ensure project quality.
  • Stay informed of updates, new features, and industry best practices to recommend system enhancements.


Risk and Issue Management


  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address project challenges to prevent delays or budget overruns.


Testing, Training and Support


  • Develop, analyze, and coordinate testing procedures.
  • Document and execute test cases and scripts.
  • Organize and lead end-user training sessions to ensure successful system adoption.
  • Provide post-implementation support and gather feedback for continuous improvement.


Vendor and Resource Management


  • Manage relationships with internal/external stakeholders and vendors, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure adequate support for project execution.


Performance Monitoring


  • Track project progress against established KPIs/Measures of Success and adjust plans as necessary to achieve goals.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement.



Minimum Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Five to seven years' experience in process improvement, project management, and customer support
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including ability to clearly articulate technical issues and activities to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to understand, document and communicate complex business workflows and processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a complex and changing environment
  • Well-developed practical operating knowledge of common desktop/laptop hardware and application software specifically.
  • MS Office Suite/Office 365
  • Planning, design and delivery expertise
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively
  • Consistently meet expected production, accuracy and quality standards as set by management
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Track project progress against established KPIs and adjust plans as necessary to achieve goals.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement.



Additional Desired Qualifications


  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and programming concepts
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing Custom Technology and/or Process Improvement solutions



Work Environment:


  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Overtime and weekend work are required, as job duties demand.

  • The employee is frequently required to reach and lift with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, turn, etc., and move about the facility

This position is at our Parsippany, NJ corporate offices location.
