We are currently looking for a Accounts Payable Clerk to join our growing team!

JOB SUMMARY

Complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Pay employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verify and maintain vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain historical records by archiving and filing documents.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Monitor compliance with company accounting procedures
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years Accounts Payable experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Proven ability to meet quality and quantity goals preferred
  • Strong attention to detail required

PHYSICAL DEMAND

  1. Sitting for extended periods of time
  2. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other
  3. Communications/computer components
  4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  5. Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
