Summary

Collaborate with Clinical Placement and Recruitment Specialist to ensure nursing students and clinical faculty are compliant with health regulations, accreditation standards, and all institutional, clinical partner, federal, state and local regulatory requirements related to nursing education. Facilitate student compliance with clinical agency contractual, health, background, and training requirements. Foster clear communication and processes between administration, staff, faculty, students and outside agencies


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Placement and Operations

  1. Monitor and track student and faculty compliance and completion of annual health requirements in both graduate and undergraduate programs. Notify non-compliant Faculty and students.
  2. Communicate directly with students to ensure requirements are successfully completed by deadlines. Collaborate with clinical placements specialist weekly managing non-compliant students for both health and clinical placement requirements. Utilize web-based platforms for tracking.
  3. Complete clinical paperwork and forms for students and faculty. Utilize the SXU Canvas system to post information for students.
  4. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for clinical placement courses when necessary.
  5. Assist the Clinical Placement and Recruitment Specialist with student clinical orientation sessions each semester.
  6. Collaborate with designated SONHS administrative assistant on the processing of standard affiliation agreements with potential and current clinical agencies for graduate and undergraduate programs.
  7. Maintain master files with clinical agency specific requirements including, but not limited to, contract dates, health requirements, background checks, orientation and clinical information system tracking.
  8. Assist Graduate Nursing Program Director with student practicum process. Duties to include, but not limited to: affiliation agreement creation, student communication pertaining to practicum placement and student compliance tracking.
  9. Assignment as administrative support for SONHS Faculty committees.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.
  • Experience working on projects with deadlines, performing data entry, exposure to confidential information and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to facilitate teamwork in an environment dealing with a broad range of issues and with constituencies across the University and health care agencies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage concurrent projects and work independently.

  • Enthusiasm toward serving a diverse student and client population.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in advanced functions of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey instructions and send email communication effectively to various constituencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information and to handle sensitive matters with judgement, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and prioritize.

Description of Hours:M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm
