General Job Description:

Under the Purchasing Manager's or Supervisor's direction, this position evaluates and analyzes potential suppliers plus procurement processes to ensure a company acquires goods and services at the best possible cost. It utilizes data analysis and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize purchasing activities across the organization. Key duties include vendor evaluation, cost analysis, and reporting on spending patterns to identify potential areas for improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Works closely with Purchasing managers/supervisors to analyze and audit invoices from suppliers and manufacturers to ensure ACCO is paying agreed-upon pricing.
  • Responsible for collecting and manipulating invoice data to find inconsistencies against standard pricing and project-specific buy-out pricing for commodity products, rentals, or other items with approved pricing sheets
  • Conduct detailed cost breakdowns of invoices, including identifying cost-saving opportunities for better pricing with suppliers and ensuring credits are processed for any overages found.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to identify spending patterns, track key procurement metrics, and generate reports to support decision-making.
  • Assess and analyze potential vendors based on quality, price, delivery time, and other relevant factors to identify the most suitable suppliers.
  • Identify and target new products or suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, delivery schedules, quality standards, and implement audit procedures.
  • Stay updated on market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry pricing to inform procurement decisions.
  • Special projects as required and other duties as assigned by management.


Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, etc.):



  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED), Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient-plus level user of MS Excel and MS Word
  • Understanding of HVAC and plumbing industry dynamics and supplier landscape preferred.
  • Ability to use procurement software and data analysis tools
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Effective communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Ability for a keen sense of detail and attention
  • Strong business writing skills, including use of proper grammar and terminology
  • Able to demonstrate high customer service skills

  • The employee may regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Hours:

This is an exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm as scheduled with the position's supervisor. Additional hours may be necessary occasionally, depending on business needs.

Travel:

0-5% of the time to and from the primary office location to regional branch offices.

Competitive Wages:

$79,875 - $97,625 Annual Salary. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
