Legal Innovation Summer Fellow, Legal Information Institute - Cornell Law School
Founded in 1887, Cornell Law School is a top-tier law school, currently ranked 14th by U.S. News & World Report. We offer a 3-year JD program for about 200 students per class, a one-year LLM program for about 120 students from countries throughout the world, and a doctoral (JSD) program for about 2-3 new students per year. Our small team builds fast-loading, usable, reliable applications that bring American law to people from all walks of life - lawyers, engineers, construction workers, students, disability advocates, bankers, farmers, and many, many more. The Legal Information Institute (LII) at Cornell Law School LII seeks a Legal Innovation Summer Fellow to collaborate with the LII team on an innovative project advancing LII's service to the public. The fellowship provides an opportunity for someone with an interest in civic technology to do work with the potential to reach millions of people as they contend with the legal dimension of their work, personal, and civic lives. The Fellowship is funded through the Tom Bruce Legal Innovation Fellowship Fund. Duties include the following:
This fellowship is for a three-month term and is not benefits eligible. The selected candidate may choose to work in Ithaca, NY or remotely. Confirmed remote or hybrid work arrangements are subject to university approval, if working outside New York State. Please note that the New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholdings for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working outside New York State. The anticipated start date is June 2, 2025. Required Qualifications:
