Job Summary |
The undergraduate student will assist
CFWE property managers with projects on AU lands in the Lee County area. These projects include cruising timber, marking boundary lines, field data collection, data entry, forest roads maintenance, weed control, assisting in prescribed fire application, invasive species management, and assisting with the general maintenance of AU forest lands. This position may also require traveling to properties such as
MOT and Crooked Oaks to help host events/tours of these properties. The student worker will also assist the AU forestry manager with cleaning/organizing facilities such as the
MOT pavilion, the forestry tool shed, and the forest products storage shed. |
Essential Functions |
Aid in maintenance of AU forest lands and the facilities on them. |
Minimum Qualifications |
Currently enrolled as an Auburn University student and have the following traits - honest, hard-working, the ability to work independently, enjoy teamwork, tree ID knowledge, and be interested in pursuing a career in Forestry/land management. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Preferable if the candidate has experience operating farm equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, bush-hogs, drip torches, etc. |
Pay Rate |
$10.00/hour |
Work Hours |
Up to 20 hours |
