Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Device Clinic Specialist for a full-time role in Charlottesville, VA. This position is day shift position Monday to Friday and is On Site.

Join the Device Clinic at Sentara Martha Jefferson as a Cardiac Device Specialist, where you will be part of a specialized, small team environment focused on the management of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). In this position, you will monitor and support over 1,400 patients with various implants, including pacemakers, defibrillators, implantable loop recorders (ILRs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices. Utilizing your knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology, you will analyze device diagnostics and maintain accurate clinical documentation while identifying any abnormal functions. Your role will also extend to managing devices during inpatient procedures, such as MRIs and endoscopies, ultimately facilitating optimal clinical effectiveness of these vital devices through your technical expertise and skills in both outpatient and procedural settings. Candidates with prior cardiac experience are preferred.

The Device Clinical Specialist facilitates optimal clinical effectiveness of implanted cardiac devices through the application of technical knowledge and skills to evaluate device function and assist with device management in outpatient, procedural and inpatient settings.

Education

  • Master's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
  • Registered Nursing diploma

  • BSN Preferred

Certification/Licensure

  • IBHRE CCDS certification within 5 years of hire preferred.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Experience:

  • Clinical Experience required.

  • knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology

  • recognizing abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs, and CRT devices

  • Cardiac Device Experience preferred
