Summary
NRI North America
is searching for a Solution Architect with deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Azure VMware Solutions, Citrix, Omnissa Horizon, and on-premises environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions that integrate seamlessly across multiple platforms, leveraging Microsoft Azure, Citrix technologies, Omnissa Horizon, and VMware environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture, virtualization technologies, and on-premises IT infrastructure, enabling clients to move or optimize workloads between their on-premises systems and the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end hybrid cloud Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions utilizing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Omnissa Horizon. Ensure solutions meet business needs, performance standards, and security requirements.
- Provide expert guidance and consultation to clients on both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure solutions, advising on best practices for desktop virtualization, VMware virtualization, Citrix environments, traditional compute, storage, and hybrid architecture deployments.
- Work closely with clients to understand their infrastructure, business needs, and digital transformation goals, and design solutions that enable smooth integration between on-premises systems and cloud environments.
- Lead the planning and execution of hybrid cloud strategies, optimizing workflows and resources between on-premises infrastructure and Azure-based cloud solutions using Azure Stack HCI and Azure VMware Solution. Develop a seamless experience for clients moving from on-prem to cloud or adopting a mixed approach.
- Guide cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions. Provide leadership on Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, Omnissa Horizon, VMware vSphere, Azure Stack HCI, and Azure VMware Solution deployments in both cloud and on-prem environments.
- Assess, analyze, and optimize the performance of virtual desktop solutions in AVD, Citrix, and Omnissa Horizon environments to maximize efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of cloud and hybrid virtual desktop solutions, from architecture and design through deployment, integration, and ongoing management, ensuring all components (cloud, on-prem, and virtual environments) work cohesively.
- Ensure that solutions adhere to security policies, compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and industry best practices, both in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to clients and internal teams on the management and optimization of Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, Omnissa Horizon, Azure VMware Solution, Azure Stack HCI, and VMware vSphere environments.
- Deliver troubleshooting expertise to resolve issues within virtual desktop environments, both cloud and on-premises, ensuring smooth operation and minimal disruption.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5+ years of experience in IT consulting, solution architecture, or a similar role.
- At least 5 years of experience in implementing and managing Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix and/or Omnissa Horizon.
- At least 3 years of experience in implementing and managing VMware vSphere, Azure VMware Solution, Hyper-V and/or Azure Stack HCI.
- Strong expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies - Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Omnissa Horizon.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud and on-premises virtualization technologies VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Azure VMware Solution, and Azure Stack HCI).
- Expertise in hybrid cloud architecture, designing solutions that combine on-premises infrastructure with cloud-based solutions.
- Experience working with both public cloud (Azure) and on-prem environments, focusing on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), workload migration, and disaster recovery.
- Proven experience designing cloud-based and hybrid Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions across Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, and Omnissa Horizon.
- Proven experience designing solutions across VMware vSphere, Azure VMware Solution, Azure Stack HCI, and Hyper-V to support a wide range of workloads.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure), on-premises infrastructure and virtualization, and the integration for hybrid cloud setups.
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, cloud-based disaster recovery, and multi-cloud management.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (preferred).
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certifications in on-premises virtualization.
- Citrix Certified Expert - Virtualization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate, including experience and location.
