Description The Technical Service Representative will provide material conversion technology support to our customers within Eastman's Biodegradables Technology Division in Kingsport, Tennessee. This division focuses on developing and commercializing innovative solutions that will be integrated into existing Eastman business units. Our customers span various markets, including food service and packaging, and utilize conversion technologies such as profile extrusion, foamed sheet extrusion, thermoforming, and injection molding. Responsibilities * Translate and effectively communicate material processing characteristics into conversion equipment requirements and procedures. * Actively work with customers to establish and/or improve equipment design, material processing, troubleshooting procedures, and material handling when qualifying new materials. Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to accelerate product qualification when necessary. * Attend, document, and communicate internal and external trials to evaluate material processing. * Identify & document industry and customer specific unmet needs and product fitness for use criteria. * Provide technical product training to customers, distributors, and sales & marketing teams. * Develop technical and technical marketing materials for customer engagement and customer success. * Partner with Application Development, Marketing, and Business Development teams to deliver products meeting market needs and adding value to our customers. * Execute pre-call and call reports utilizing Salesforce Customer Relationship Management system. Qualifications B.S. or M.S. in Polymer Science, Engineering, or Chemistry is preferred. At least 3-10+ years industrial experience in polymer foam extrusion, foam thermoforming, profile extrusion, and/or injection molding. Skilled at customer relationship development. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Comfort with considerable (50-90%) travel domestically and internationally.
