Title: Test Engineer

The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning, control and automation products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance. For more information on currently developed products, see http://construction.trimble.com/earthworks CTCT is seeking a Test engineer that performs testing in the lab to support validation of its products including environmental, electrical, and capability testing

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for executing EVT, DVT and PVT tests per provided test plan and industry specifications.

* Responsible for monitoring and recording performance of devices under test. * Responsible for documenting test setup and results

* Responsible for creating product test setup as defined (harness, loadbox etc.) * Responsible for requirements analysis and test plan generation and maintenance.

* Responsible for developing validation procedures for component testing, extended life test, test to failure and overstress test etc.

* Responsible for analysis of test data during EVT, DVT and PVT phase. Comparison to product requirements.

* Accountable to develop test hardware required for testing. This includes new product test fixtures, loadboxes, harnesses or general setup related items.

* Responsible for analyzing data and creating test summaries and validation reports.

Skills & Experience Required

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

* 3+ years of lab validation experience

* Mechanical aptitude

* Some basic electrical and software experience is helpful

* Office applications

* MS Excel (Google Sheets) - statistics, simple data analysis

* Word (Google Docs) - construct test plans, test reports

* PowerPoint (Google Slides) - convey design ideas, presentations

Skills & Experience Preferred:

* 3D CAD experience-PTC Creo preferred Matlab experience helpful

* Prior design experience

* IPC certification (soldering)

* Ability to travel to external labs to support testing
