Description

Primary Purpose:

Ensure that the credit and collection policies and procedures of the Bank best serve the organization and its customers. Perform collection duties personally or through subordinates and/or vendors. Oversee collections staff and provide leadership and guidance. Ensure strict compliance with State and Federal credit and collection rules and regulations in all collection practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Ensure that credit and collection policies, procedures, practices, and documentation meet federal and state regulations.
  • Assign, monitor and supervise the work load in the Collections Department via staff and vendor management to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of work. Ensure the courteous and considerate interface with customers at all times.
  • Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
  • Prepare the monthly calendar for default letters and coordinate the production and mailing of such letters with third party print vendors.
  • Monitor laws and regulations for changes, disseminate pertinent information to subordinates and ensure affected letters or other customer communications are properly reviewed and updated as needed.
  • Coordinate responses to customer delinquency inquiries received from Mortgage Loan Officers, Customer Call Center, and other production staff
  • Assist in the creation and ongoing monitoring of monthly activity reports indicating the status of any collection activity and ensuring contact timelines are maintained in accordance with investor guidelines.
  • Manage employees in a manner consistent with all Cadence Bank human resources policies and procedures
  • Draft and/or update policies and procedures related to mortgage collections and implement new/updated policies and procedures.
  • Disseminate information, answer questions, and be a subject matter expert related to the field of collections pertaining to mortgage residential loan servicing

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management
  • Previous experience with mortgage collections and regulatory compliance
