Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Calibration Technician for our North Kingstown, RI location. This is an On-site position.

About the Role:

Performs calibration and certification of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence stationary product line and accessories to meet tolerances and specifications according with standard operating procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities that positively affect safety, the environment, quality, reliability, and productivity or improve the overall suitability and effectiveness of the management system, its processes and products.
  • Follows defined processes according to standard operating procedures.
  • Develops an understanding of controller firmware to apply toward Coordinated Measurement Machine (CMM) start-ups.
  • Will learn the operation of laser systems and applicable software to obtain error maps of the CMM's measurable volume.
  • Will configure customer computers.
  • Will use provided prints to set up and configure machine probing and perform corresponding testing.
  • Troubleshoot all processes when necessary.
  • Maintain a workload which is designed to meet production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Document calibration process and prepare reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in Calibration of CMM's preferred
  • Experience using hand tools
  • Understanding of manufacturing execution systems
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be highly organized and self-motivated
  • Works under moderate direction as well as in a team environment

  • Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling
  • Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects

  • Primarily an office setting, with occasional visits to the factory floor
  • Office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated
  • Office noise levels are considered low to moderate

  • If required, PPE will be provided
  • May require travel up to 10%
