About the Job

Position Summary:
The UMN/SDSU Education Program Liaison will be responsible for managing and facilitating collaboration between the University of Minnesota (UMN) and South Dakota State University (SDSU). The primary focus of this role is to ensure that course agreements are signed and executed, faculty collaborations are effective, curricula are harmonized, and tuition billing recommendations are made. Additionally, the Liaison will work closely with faculty and administrative teams to determine optimal outcomes assessments for the first two years of the collaborative program. This position will report to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs and will operate at 20% FTE.

Key Responsibilities:

Faculty Collaboration Facilitation: (50%)
Act as the primary point of contact for faculty at both institutions.
Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings to ensure strong connections between teaching staff.
Support inter-institutional academic exchanges and joint initiatives.

Course Agreement Management: (25%)
Oversee and ensure timely signing of course agreements between both universities.
Ensure that syllabi are shared between institutions to promote transparency and alignment in course objectives.
Maintain records and updates on agreement statuses and renewals.

Curriculum Harmonization:(10%)
Ensure that the curricula from both universities are aligned and meet the academic standards of each institution.
Collaborate with faculty to address gaps or overlaps in course content and delivery.
Regularly review and assess curriculum effectiveness in meeting program objectives.

Outcomes Assessment for Years 1 and 2: (10%)
Help design and implement effective assessment tools for evaluating student performance and program outcomes in the first two years.
Collaborate with faculty to ensure assessments are aligned with program goals and accreditation standards.
Provide reports and insights on student progress to both universities.

Tuition Billing Recommendations: (5%)
Analyze tuition structures and make recommendations for fair and transparent billing between institutions.
Work with finance teams to ensure tuition billing reflects collaborative efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree in relevant field with at least 6 years of experience

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $19,000 to $24,485/annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
