3 Year Limited Term Forest Technician

Are you enthusiastic about preserving our forests and natural landscapes? The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a 3-Year Limited Term Forest Technician for the Northeast Region. In this position, you will help ensure the long-term health, viability, and productivity of the Commonwealth's forests and wildlife. In this position, you will provide technical support and assistance to Regional Forestry staff in day-to-day activities on State Game Lands with a primary focus on forest habitat management activities promoting young forest conditions. This includes conducting surveys for timber sales, herbicide areas, and other forest habitat treatments under the direction of a forester. You will also assist with the collection and compilation of GPS data to produce maps, maintain tools and equipment, and assist with other Bureau of Wildlife Habitat, Forestry Division and Pennsylvania Game Commission programs as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Limited term, full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• An associate's degree in forest technology; or
• Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
