We are recruiting for a Chemical Process Engineer for a new state-of-the art foam pouring and manufacturing facility located in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Salary Range: $76k-$142K What You Will Do:
- Drive safety policies and actively works to solution and install engineer controls to better protect the workforce and create a safe working environment.
- Engage daily with both shifts to assess needs for mechanical and chemical changes to maintain foam quality and productivity.
- Assist in identifying and formulating plans to implement cost savings projects across Slabstock.
- Contribute to ongoing projects as throughout the plant and engage to become a leading authority on all foam and chemical related projects.
- Troubleshoots issues and works to solution problems that arise with various equipment, both mechanical and chemical related.
- Works with controls experts, pipefitters, chemical vendors and other external resources to coordinate the completion of key strategic projects.
- Proactively identifies potential problem areas related to chemical and mechanical processes.
- Assists technical manager with scheduling and reporting on an ongoing basis.
What You Will Need:
- Demonstrated success solving complex problems
- Ability to multi-task and run multiple projects in a fast paced, work environment
- Able to collaborate and form close relationships across functions
- Ability to influence others even without reporting relationships
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Advanced knowledge of PC usage required to include using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal).
- Minitab or JMP experience is desirable.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering, or other applicable education. Proven success in starting up, standardizing, and improving chemical manufacturing processes.
- Three years of job experience in chemical industry or a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred. One year of directly related experience (polyurethane foam injection) is desirable. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
