About This Role:

Join our Sales Operations team as a Commissions Analyst responsible for calculating and administering commission and incentive payments for our sales personnel. This person will help ensure accuracy and timeliness by using spreadsheets and ERP systems to resolve reconciliation issues. This role will collaborate closely with sales, sales operations, and finance teams, utilizing your analytical skills to provide data-driven insights.


Responsibilities

  • Calculate and administer commission and incentive award payments to sales personnel, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in alignment with commission plan provisions
  • Set up new sales plans and participants in Varicent, including the initial configuration and ongoing maintenance
  • Conduct monthly commission validations and generate reports to ensure accurate and consistent compensation for sales personnel
  • Assist in managing requests for exceptions to compensation policy, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to evaluate and address concerns
  • Support the sales team in constructing commission plans and interpreting actual versus planned results, offering actionable insights and recommendations
  • Prepare internal reports to support the monthly and quarterly financial close process, providing comprehensive analysis and documentation
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of processes and reports to standardize the tracking, analysis, and interpretation of key business metrics
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance policies, procedures, and business practices that increase efficiency within the commissions function
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to business clients, helping them understand the financial impact of their decisions with value-added alternatives and analytics

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years' experience in Commissions, Finance, Operations or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or any other field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced functions and data analysis capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Varicent or similar sales compensation tool
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines, able to multitask
  • Proven problem-solving abilities to address challenges efficiently and effectively
  • Result driven and organized, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex data and derive actionable insights
  • Strong listening, analytical and organizational skills

Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $67,200-$99,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. Medallia considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, candidate's work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
