PURPOSE:

The Manufacturing Equipment Calibration Engineer performs functions associated with FormFactor Livermore site wide calibrated process equipment & measurement instruments. We are seeking a tech-savvy, hands-on individual to apply their education and past experience to ensure calibration traceability & conformance prior to use in manufacturing. The successful candidate over time will want to gain an understanding of the existing fleet, implement improvements, establish KPI's to monitor compliance and evolve our documentation and methods. In this role, there may be 5-10% travel to other sites and drive cross site collaboration to ensure our customers are not impacted by equipment that is out of specification.

This position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (on-site in Livermore) and will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Take ownership of FormFactor Livermore Site Equipment Calibration Program to ensure process equipment and critical measurement instruments are always in calibrated good condition - Across all Livermore Site process modules.
  • Validate all existing & new measurement equipment is calibrated or verifications against internationally traceable standards; when no such standard exists document the basis information used.
  • Collaborate with Equipment, Process & Development Engineering team members to ensure all new or obsolete equipment is added or removed from our database real time.
  • Perform Internal Audits, host 3rd party ISO audits and track corrective actions to ensure long term solutions are put in place.
  • Report Regular KPI (Key Performance Indicators) on a regular basis to management & provide Semi-Annual KPI's for executive reporting; Update KPI's as the performance improves.
  • Maintain and update our Equipment Calibration BMS (Business Management System) documents as updates & improvements are made to the calibration program.
  • Manage a calibration database that contains our calibration vendor contracts & records, internal calibration records, internal & third-party calibration audit information.



EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS:


  • BS in Electrical or mechanical engineering + 5-7 years or equivalent experience in Semiconductor or equivalent technology equipment engineering
  • Proven experience in calibration engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement devices.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills as related to manufacturing issues.
  • Able to work with limited supervision, is self-directed, and has a methodical approach to solving technical problems.
  • Familiarity with basic semiconductor factory equipment including dial indicators, calipers, thermal measurement devices, various standards, voltage/current/laser power/other meters and other various equipment technology used to measure, weigh or certify our production process steps.
  • Have solid computer skills on a variety of windows versions or equipment interfaces
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with clean room procedures and protocols.



WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Occasionally sitting, standing and working in a clean room environment for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.
  • Office environment
  • May be required to work overtime and weekends when the job demands it - based on commitment to objectives
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements
  • Work area has fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Moderate to loud noise level



The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $136,200 and $178,815. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
