Full-time Faculty Positions Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Part-time Faculty Positions DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. Apply for this Job Posting DetailsJob ID: 153448 Rank: Professional Lecturer, Term Faculty (Non-Tenure Track) -College/School: Chicago, IL - College of Law Responsibilities:DePaul Law invites applications for a term faculty position expected to begin July 1, 2025, for the Director of an international human rights law clinic (IHRC). We welcome candidates with excellent academic credentials and those with practice experience in international human rights law, including international criminal law, international humanitarian law and/or human rights, and rule of law issues. The Director will have the opportunity to develop a vision for the direction of the IHRC. The Director will be responsible for all aspects of running the IHRC, including teaching the related clinical seminar; intensive supervision and mentoring of law students; course planning and teaching; curriculum development; client and/or project selection; individual case and/or project work; and clinic administration. In addition to teaching the courses associated with the IHRC throughout the year, the selected applicant will also teach one non-clinical course per year and serve as the Executive Director of the International Human Rights Law Institute including helping with fundraising for the clinic. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The position will begin in the 2025-2026 academic year. This is an open rank search, meaning that we may hire a Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor of Practice depending on candidates' experience and qualifications. The IHRC is an integral part of DePaul Law's international human rights law program, which is currently centered around the International Human Rights Law Institute (IHRLI). The IHRLI has been a mainstay of the law school since 1990 when M. Cherif Bassiouni, previous emeritus professor of law who taught in the law school beginning in 1964, founded IHRLI. The IHRLI is at the forefront of contemporary human rights and rule of law research, training and advocacy. The IHRLI has designed and managed projects around the world on post-conflict justice, human rights documentation and analysis, capacity building for legal professionals, gender rights and human trafficking. IHRLI conducts scholarly research on international criminal law, international humanitarian law and a variety of human rights and rule of law issues. The IHRLI also prepares DePaul law students, activists and scholars for careers in human rights through courses, fellowship programs, internships and research opportunities in Chicago and abroad.
