Position Summary

Popejoy Hall is looking for a Concessions Manager to help be a part of our energetic and enthusiastic team. In house concessions is new to Popejoy Hall and we are looking for an eager and team focused leader to help us develop this new arm of our department.

The Concessions Manager will work closely with the Associate Director of Ticketing and Patron Experience, along with the Box Office Manager to build out the future of Popejoy Concessions.

Nights and weekends are a must. Must have completed or be willing to complete food handling safety certification.

  1. Manages and oversees all facets of the daily operations of Popejoy Concessions ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  2. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  3. Performs purchasing and control of concessions inventory: foods, souvenir cups, and general concessions supplies. Obtains Food Handling Safety certification.
  4. Plans and coordinates business functions, to include specialty menu items, nightly promotions, and concessions promotional items. Works with Associate Director of Ticketing and Parton Experience, Box Office Manager and Popejoy Marketing for implementation of marketing items.
  5. Maintains sales and stock records; performs seasonal forecasting by reviewing prior year sales history; prepares and presents periodic and scheduled performance reports.
  6. Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operating unit. Builds concessions events in Point of Sales system. Responsible for all concession's events needed for the year. To include price charts, and placing events in POS system for student/staff access,
  7. Develops working knowledge of eQuery, POS reporting system. Report event numbers at the end of each performance date/time.
  8. Will work directly with Associate Director of Ticketing and Patron Experience and Box Office Manager on growth of concession department. This will include the growth in number of concession points of sales and menu items.
  9. During season downtime will fill in at the Box Office as managerial staffing as needed. In this capacity will serve as backup to box office staffing.
  10. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations
  11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Cash handling/POS experience preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Food handling experience preferred
