Responsibilities

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a 60-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We offer diverse inpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents.

In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

The Director of Business Development (DBD) oversees the marketing, referral development, public relations and customer satisfaction efforts for Suncoast Behavioral Health Center and Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center. The DBD manages and directs a team of Business Development Representatives who build strong customer relationships while assuring the hospital meets established goals. The DBD works with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to troubleshoot and improve internal and external processes to benefit referral sources and patients, as well as overall strategic planning. The DBD acts as a liaison between the hospital, customers, and community stakeholders, as well as plan events, serves on community boards, and seeks out new business development opportunities for the hospital.

The Director of Business Development will work for both Suncoast Behavioral Health Center and Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Articulate the mission, culture and programs of Suncoast Behavioral Health Center and Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center to current and prospective referral sources and the community.
  • Supervise a team of Business Development Representatives to ensure sales/marketing efforts and results meet hospital goals.
  • Develop a strategic plan for creating demand for the facilities' services.
  • Create processes and strategies to constantly improve the customer's experience with Suncoast Behavioral Health Center and Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center.
  • Create and manage a departmental budget.
  • Manage/negotiate contracts with insurance and managed care companies.
  • Network and participate in community events and committees.
  • Create marketing promotional materials and online/social media content.
  • Perform personnel management duties including recruiting and retention, providing department orientation and training and completing performance evaluations.
  • Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and adding value to the strategic direction of the Hospital as a clinical expert.
  • Establishes departmental goals, standards and procedures that align with the Hospital and company strategic direction.
  • Maintain working relationships with physicians, allied health professionals, patient families and referral sources.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Masters preferred.
  • Two (2) years minimum in Marketing and Sales, two (2) years managing staff preferred.
  • Irregular and long hours may be required occasionally. Exposure to patients and program conditions. Extensive travel. Bending, lifting 30lb boxes containing brochures and 50lb display boards, etc.
