The Consumer Markets Division is actively seeking a talented Associate Actuary/Senior Analyst to join our Insurance Risk team within the Inforce Management group. This role can be on-site or hybrid out of either our Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE locations.

This role may be filled at the Associate Actuary or Senior Analyst level depending on the experience and qualifications of the applicant.

As an Associate Actuary/Senior Analyst, you'll play a key role in developing and building reporting capabilities within the Consumer Markets Division. This will be a high visibility role and provides significant opportunities to add value by identifying key existing and emerging insurance risks and formulating risk mitigations solutions for this block of business.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Participate in Insurance Risk reporting and strategy development.

  • Identify, calculate, and analyze insurance risk associated with annuity and life insurance products.

  • Streamline current reporting processes and identify additional reporting capabilities and dashboards.

  • Develop tools to ensure insurance risk is appropriately considered in new and existing CMD product pricing and inforce analysis.

  • Develop and own liability risk management tools and reporting.

  • Assist with efforts to identify and secure liability risk management structures to remediate underperforming business segments.

  • Partner with various stakeholders, including Corporate Risk Management, Product Development, Reinsurance, and Valuation to collaborate on solutions.

The experience you bring:

  • ASA or FSA designation, or working towards an ASA designation.

  • Strong understanding of life & annuity products and key risks facing those contracts.

  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with innate curiosity and attention to detail.

  • Strong data and technical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with one or more of the following: SQL, Python, R, VBA.

  • Experience with running Actuarial Models (e.g., MG-ALFA, Prophet, AXIS, etc.)

  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Senior Analyst: 2+ years of actuarial experience with at least two SOA exams toward the ASA designation, 4-year degree or equivalent experience; position is eligible for Actuarial Student Program.

Associate Actuary: 4+ years of actuarial experience and requires an ASA designation, 4-year degree or equivalent experience; position is eligible for Actuarial Student Program.

  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire and understand new concepts, technologies, and processes relevant to the role.

  • Prior experience with Risk Management or Product Development and Design.

  • Prior experience being a key member of projects involving multiple departments.

  • Prior experience using data transformation and visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or Power BI.

  • Prior experience running models in Prophet.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$118,800.00 - $145,200.00
