What you will do: Produce scripts and record audio descriptions for a variety of clients' television outputs Audio description is a secondary soundtrack describing onscreen action, locations, and characters, interwoven with dialogue, music, and sound effects. Scripts include timings and text, with timings indicating when descriptions are desirable. Write scripts and record descriptions Meet production targets for scripting and voicing Understand and meet client requirements with the AD team Introduce and encourage collaboration in audio description Contribute to editorial policy and standards Monitor scripts and recordings for quality and accuracy Conduct background research on programs Train new recruits and develop team skills Continuously improve voicing and scripting skills Assist in staff assessments Follow Health and Safety guidelines Collaborate with colleagues for optimal service delivery The skills you bring: Professional vocal skills from broadcasting Essential writing/scripting skills for creative and factual content Wide vocabulary and visual sense Appreciation of diverse media Understanding of visually impaired audience needs Experience with new systems and technology Health and Safety awareness Collaborative Worker: Builds effective relationships, is tactful, diplomatic, and professional Editorial Judgment: Applies guidelines appropriately Resilience: Maintains quality under deadlines, works independently, accepts criticism Writing Skills: Creates engaging scripts reflecting program styles Flexibility: Adapts to challenges and embraces change Planning and Organizing: Efficiently prioritizes and plans activities Communication: Clearly conveys messages using appropriate styles Initiative: Takes action beyond expectations to enhance results Compensation data: Starting pay for this role is $31,200 with a 5% annual bonus structure.
