Job Description Summary: With little or no direction, the Project Manager II performs Agile project management activities for complex, high-profile programs and projects, working with cross-functional IT teams and product owners to deliver business solutions and to provide expert guidance and expertise to self-organizing teams in the areas of Agile/iterative planning, Agile execution techniques, and cross-team coordination. Throughout the delivery life cycle, the Project Manager collaborates with the Scrum Master, clients, and internal teams to continually iterate while keeping the project on track. This individual is also responsible for providing clarity in the client's timeline and budget while mitigating risks to delivering a successful website or product. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and client services, familiarity with basic software development practices, and a desire to work in a highly collaborative, open, and dynamic environment.   • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Interfaces with and tracks all areas affected by the scope of the project, including business users, and vendors.
  • Develops and tracks budgets and financial cost forecasts to support the objectives of the project.
  • Defines project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organizes and leads project status and working meetings; prepares and distributes progress reports; manages risks and issues; corrects deviations from plans; and performs delivery planning for assigned projects.
  • Assists in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leverages organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; mentors and develops team members.
  • Supports product owners in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.
  • Defines and manages a well-defined project management process and champions ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile project management.
  • Promotes empowerment of the team, ensures that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourages a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related academic field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience successfully implementing projects with a wide variety of assignments.
  • 5+ years' experience in project management.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • Solid understanding of, and demonstrated experience using, Agile project management tools (such as ADO, TFS, Jira, Rally, VersionOne or equivalent), Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office tools.
  • Experience overseeing multi-function project teams, including developers, business analysts, and QA personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Very effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and ensure that objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while keeping in mind the big picture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Scrum Master.
  • 5 years' experience with stakeholder management with influencing, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues.
  • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value.
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects (PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred).
  • Strong and current awareness of external trends and best practices.
  • Experience with large initiatives that required organizational change management skills regarding the rollout and adoption of a project's outcome.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, processes, and tools of project management.
  • Knowledge of product development methodologies, managing product launches or project management, specifically supporting a product and services department.
  • Experience with healthcare products or launching products in a services-oriented industry.
