Job Description
Summary Provide process support for manufacturing in an assigned area or areas within a facility. Responsibilities will include problem solving and special expertise in technical areas relating to any specific manufacturing process or multiple process as deemed appropriate. Additionally, this individual will work directly with operators, supervisors and plant leadership to assist. Assignments can be of a broad nature and require considerable judgment, ingenuity, and mechanical aptitude. Typically, this position will require 80+ percent of duties to be on the production floor (non-office environment). Description of Duties and Responsibilities Create and Review Process Work Instructions Perform routine check ins with team members during their training periods Participate in New Hire Orientation as required Utilize Training within Industry (TWI) techniques to deliver team member training Provide hands-on assistance in trouble shooting and eliminating process issues Work with Leadership, P&C and Production department as needed to identify training needs of individuals in assigned area Gather and evaluate information from team members on previous training to identify improvement opportunities and areas that need additional training Become a Train-the-Trainer for the Qualified Designated Trainer (T3) program Recruit and train Qualified Designated Trainers (T3) Participate as needed in Lean activities, such as Kaizen events, Problem Solving events, SMED, VSM and others May assist in the updating and maintaining of employee records, ensuring they are filed properly and timely Support Southwire's Culture of Zero by demonstrating safe and quality conscious work habits. Any other activities as directed by Plant Leadership Ability to work flexible hours and shifts Field of Expertise: Insulated Wire Qualifications and Experience Requirements Preferred 3 plus years of experience and working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and process. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with SAP, Advaris is a plus. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude Team Lead Experience preferred Qualified Designated Trainer (T3) Qualification Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities along with outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills required.
