Job Description

The MU Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a cGMP Procurement Specialist to work closely with the production team. The cGMP Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of Controlled Materials essential for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) activities. This position involves the strategic ordering, tracking, and coordination of materials to support MURR's Production group. The individual will collaborate with suppliers, Production, and Quality Assurance to uphold supply chain standards, verify material specifications, relay change notifications, and ensure supplier compliance with MURR's Supplier Management Program.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Management:

Initiate and manage orders for Controlled Materials required in GMP manufacturing activities.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and update tracking software to keep all stakeholders informed of order progress/status.

Inventory Oversight:

Track received orders to guarantee timely availability of controlled materials.
Inform the Production team promptly if certain part numbers are no longer available, and collaborate to identify alternative suppliers when necessary.

Collaboration with Quality Control:

Work closely with the QC Controlled Materials group to prioritize and facilitate the timely release of materials upon arrival at MURR.
Ensure that all materials meet specified quality standards.

Financial Coordination:

Collaborate with MURR Fiscal on material reconciliation, receipt verification, and processing payments for orders.

Supplier Management:

Adhere to the GMP Supplier Management Program, ensuring that suppliers comply with MURR's standards.
Communicate supplier change notifications promptly and initiate the resolution of any supplier concerns with Quality Assurance.
Evaluate new suppliers and coordinate with QA for their assessment.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
Explore cost-saving opportunities with vendors, identify new and reliable suppliers, and contribute to general supply chain improvements.

Must be available for consistent onsite work.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00pm, some occasional evening and weekend work

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Supply chain, logistics, order management, and/or business management

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Grade: GGS 008
