Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Assistant Director for Global Programs is responsible for developing and executing a growing number of global learning programs for first year students intending to matriculate to the Undergraduate Business Program ( UBP). Additionally, this position is responsible for oversight and coordination of the academic processes and policies related to UBP global learning programs. Overall, more than 70% of all UBP students participate in a global learning program before they graduate. In addition to having higher education work experience and an understanding of the nature of international business education, the Assistant Director must be knowledgeable about all aspects of the University and the Business School including its mission, policies, and procedures.

The Assistant Director develops programs and activities consistent with the curricular and programmatic goals of the UBP and the strategic priorities of the Kenan-Flagler Business School. To that end, the Assistant Director works collaboratively with the rest of the Global Programs team and the other functional areas within the UBP to research, influence, and implement new program opportunities in alignment with the overall expansion strategy of UBP Global.

This position reports directly to the Director of Undergraduate Business Global Programs. Reporting to the Assistant Director is the Global Programs Manager. Some evening and weekend hours as well as international and domestic travel will be required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A successful candidate for this role is a strong and clear communicator, motivated and organized, detail oriented, who functions well as part of a team, and can successfully juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. This individual must be able to move quickly and adeptly between projects and perform under pressure in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment as well as be able to work independently with minimal oversight. As this individual will work with stakeholders across campus as well as globally, having a diplomatic style is essential to ensure that key messages are conveyed, as intended, in a culturally appropriate way. The successful candidate must also be willing to travel internationally.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Three to five years of related work experience, with preference for candidates with direct experience working with undergraduate students in a global programs university setting.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
