Serve as the district receptionist and provide clerical support to the district safety coordinator and Assistant District Executive (ADE) of Maintenance. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Clerical Assistant 2 serves as the District Office receptionist presenting a professional environment for the District Office where you will greet and direct visitors to the office/unit, perform a variety of clerical and typing duties; assist with miscellaneous tasks and projects for supervisors and managers in the maintenance unit. In this capacity, you will answer calls, take messages, provide information to the customer, or forward caller to an individual who can provide the requested information.

You will distribute incoming and outgoing mail, maintain records when receiving packages and mail from FedEx, UPS, Central Office Mail, or any other package handlers. You will prepare night time mail for delivery to the Post Office assuring that letters and mailing have proper postage and addresses.

The person in this position will utilize knowledge of units and their personnel in order to correctly transfer telephone calls to the proper employee. Additionally you will use a courteous, clear voice when receiving and transferring telephone calls.


You will perform a variety of clerical and typing duties associated in support of the safety coordinator position and ADE of Maintenance and also assist with miscellaneous tasks and projects for supervisors and managers in the maintenance unit.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after successfully completing the probationary period or satisfactory EPR. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
