POSITION SUMMARY

The SVP of Sales, OE is a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth and building long-term partnerships with OEMs in the automotive aftermarket accessories industry. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's sales strategy, aligning product offerings with market demands, and fostering a culture of innovation and customer-centric excellence. The SVP of Sales, OE oversees a high-performing sales team and works collaboratively across departments, including product development, operations, and marketing, to deliver tailored solutions that exceed customer expectations. The SVP will leverage deep industry expertise and strong relationships within the automotive sector to identify opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and secure new business while strengthening existing partnerships.

CORE FUNCTIONS



  • Lead the development and execution of the annual budget, forecasts, business plan, and develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company revenue and profitability goals in the OE sector.
  • Set strategic direction and initiatives for a business unit to deliver budgeted sales revenue through all channel partners.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a high-performing sales team to optimize individual and team performance. Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the sales organization
  • Build and maintain high-impact relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and other strategic partners. Identify and secure new business opportunities, negotiating complex contracts to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Responsible for all customer pricing and delivering budgeted gross margin targets at a brand, channel, and product line level.
  • Responsible for sales SG&A budget deliverables, including salaries, T&E, and discounts.
  • Develop, plan, and execute promotional plans throughout the channel in harmony against the corporate promotional schedule within the division.
  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to ensure product offerings align with OEM needs and emerging market trends. Oversee the introduction of new products into the OE market, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, timing and quality standards.
  • Establish sales objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and sales forecasting methodologies to track progress and measure success.
  • Monitor industry trends in the automotive industry, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt sales strategies accordingly and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Ability to drive collaboration and cross functional selling across a diverse group of sales team members and product categories.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to align sales strategies with overall business goals and ensure cross-functional coordination and implementation.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to four Vice President-level direct reports, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high-performance team dynamics to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all automotive industry standards, certifications, and regulations.
  • Cultivate long-term partnerships with key stakeholders at OEMs. Act as the primary point of escalation for strategic accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field required. MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of outside sales experience and senior management in automotive segment or OEM/OES channels (s) required. 8-10 years of experience managing and mentoring high-performing sales teams, with a focus on business development and client retention.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, high-value sales portfolios and building strategic partnerships with OEMs.
  • Solid experience with pipeline development and demand generation.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in developing and executing long-term growth strategies for revenue generation.
  • Proficient in competitive market analysis, pricing strategies, and profit optimization in the OE and aftermarket sectors.
  • This role requires an accomplished leader with a proven track record in automotive sales, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to inspire teams to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Required Licenses



  • Valid state-issued driver's license.

  • Strong business acumen and a commercial track record as well as an organizational command to develop and influence positive change.
  • Capable of working across business segments, demonstrating the flexibility to adapt and communicate to a diverse matrixed organization; a great communicator who embraces partnering to achieve success.
  • Fundamental operational and engineering understanding is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM Software, ERP Software, Sales Force, Concur or other expenses systems Development of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Ability to respond to complaints.
  • Ability to effectively present information and presentations to customers and top management.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw an interpret graphs.
  • Ability to read and understand business financial documents.
  • Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Ability to overcome customer objections and concerns.


Travel



  • 30 to 50% travel required on average (weekends included).


SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES



  • This position plans, organizes, evaluates, and directs the employees within the Division or multiple Brands . This position has direct and indirect reports.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • This position is subject to exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
