Under the direction of the UCD Health CIO, the Director of IT Business Operations is responsible for the direction, planning, and execution of the administrative functions of the IT Division. This includes budget and financial management, contracts and procurement, Human Resources, and IT facilities, space planning and building operations.
This role works closely with both IT and UCDH leaders, establishing strong, collaborative relationships. Advises on sensitive organizational matters and represents IT on committees and initiatives at UCDH and across UC organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Experience leading one or more teams in HR, Procurement, Finance or general administrative operations.
- Strong analytical skills with productivity tools such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
- Communication skills to effectively convey information to all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with administrative leadership responsibilities, including representing an organization in high-level committees or providing strategic updates.
- Proven leadership skills that include working with complex organizations and large projects.
- Clear communicator with a strong grasp on pollical and organizational dynamics.
- Superior skills in financial management and administrative organization.
- Leadership and managerial skills to lead and direct several professional teams working on unique and technically difficult projects in a complex administrative environment.
- Skills to delegate assignments and share decision-making with team members as appropriate.
- A calming, objective advisor to staff and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a related disciplinary in a field such as Business Administration, Health Administration, or Information Technology
- Experience developing and supporting a large IT divisional budget (over 500 employees and over $200M budget)
- Demonstrated experience negotiating large IT purchases and contracts
- Strong financial/accounting skills
- Knowledge and understanding of UCHD and UC policies, procedures and practices.
- Experience with analytics and dashboards.
