Job Title: Managing Director - M&A Consulting (APAC Client Buy-Side Focus)

Job Overview:

As a Managing Director at our leading M&A consulting firm, you will play a critical role in advising APAC-based clients on their M&A activities within the US market. You will leverage your deep understanding of both the APAC and US business environments to successfully execute cross-border transactions and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:




  1. APAC Client Relationship Management:



    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives and key decision-makers at leading corporations and private equity firms based in the APAC region.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with APAC clients seeking to enter, expand, or divest from the US market.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for APAC clients, providing strategic guidance and expert advice on all aspects of their M&A activities in the US.



  2. US Market Expertise:



    • Possess in-depth knowledge of the US business environment, regulatory landscape, and competitive dynamics across various industries.
    • Leverage your understanding of the US market to identify and assess potential acquisition targets, identify key risks and opportunities, and develop effective go-to-market strategies.
    • Advise APAC clients on navigating the complexities of doing business in the US, including cultural nuances, legal and regulatory requirements, and competitive pressures.



  3. Cross-Border M&A Execution:



    • Lead and manage all aspects of cross-border M&A transactions involving APAC clients, including:

      • Strategic and financial due diligence
      • Valuation analysis
      • Financial modeling
      • Negotiation support
      • Transaction structuring
      • Integration planning


    • Collaborate effectively with US-based teams and advisors to ensure seamless execution of cross-border transactions.



  4. Thought Leadership:



    • Develop and share insights on cross-border M&A trends and best practices relevant to APAC clients investing in the US.
    • Contribute to the firm's thought leadership initiatives by authoring articles, presenting at industry events, and participating in industry discussions.




Qualifications:



  • 15+ years of experience in M&A advisory, investment banking, or corporate development, with a strong focus on cross-border transactions involving APAC clients.
  • Deep understanding of the APAC business environment, economic trends, and regulatory landscape.
  • Proven track record of successfully advising APAC clients on their M&A activities in the US market.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain high-level relationships with APAC clients.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English and at least one other Asian language is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, valuation methodologies, and corporate finance principles.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and professional integrity.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
