Your Opportunity:

Taylor Print & Visual Impressions, a Taylor Corporation company, is looking for an Equipment Operator (Cutter/Folder/Stitcher Operator) to be responsible for performing all stitching and folding tasks involved in the production of Taylor Print & Visual Impressions (TPVI) products. This includes set-up, operation, and tear down of folding equipment. Join the team in Bloomington, IL!

Your Shift:

1st Shift, Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Your Responsibilities:

  • Set up folding equipment to automatically fold, slit, and/or score printed sheets into signatures for binding
  • Read job ticket to ensure equipment is set up according to specifications and all required work is performed on each job
  • Fold finish the product according to job ticket instructions
  • Read and interpret information from the bindery paperwork; planning sheets, layouts, dylux, and job ticket
  • Complete tasks as directed by production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products to customers
  • Utilize instructions and pre-established process and quality guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Examine / adjust finished products for quality assurance
  • Report defective materials or questionable quality issues to the department Supervisor or Lead

You Must Have:

  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Basic bindery knowledge and skills to operate bindery equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and follow directions
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Use basic handheld tools

Requirements Within This Position:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)

We Would Also Prefer:

  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience operating folding equipment

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $16 - 17.50. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employee.
