Position Title:Associate Vice President Security and Enterprise Assets Department:Security Job Description:

General Description

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Security and Enterprise Assets is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of the organization's security strategies, policies, and programs. Ensures the protection of the company's physical assets, intellectual property, and employee safety. This role involves strategic planning, risk management, and collaboration with executives and departments to integrate security measures throughout the organization. This position is also responsible for parking services to include parking garages, valet parking, and employee and guest shuttles.

Essential Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the security team, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Function as a key advisor to the executive team on security matters, risk management, and crisis response.
  • Develop and implement parking strategies and planning to ensure parking availability and appropriate transportation.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks across the organization.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and ensure they are effectively communicated and implemented.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and improve security posture.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate security regulations and other relevant legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory issues and ensure proper documentation and reporting.

Physical Security:

  • Oversee the protection of physical assets, including hospitals, offices, off-sites, and other facilities.
  • Implement and manage access control systems, video surveillance systems, other physical security technologies, the Security Operations Center, and security/police personnel.
  • Develop and execute emergency response and disaster recovery plans.

Incident Response and Management:

  • Develop and manage incident response plans and protocols for security breaches and other emergencies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to respond to security incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Vendor and Third-Party Management:

  • Evaluate and manage relationships with security and parking vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure that third-party partners adhere to the organization's security and parking policies and standards.
  • Conduct regular security and parking assessments of third-party vendors and contractors.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the security and parking budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Identify and procure security and parking technologies and tools that enhance the organization's capabilities.
  • Ensure the security and parking teams are adequately staffed and equipped to meet organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field required (master's degree preferred).

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in security management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role required.

Licenses(s)/Certifications(s)/Registration(s): Professional certifications such as Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA), Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of physical security, risk management, regulatory compliance, and parking management .
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic security initiatives.
  • Experience managing security incidents and crisis situations effectively.
  • Risk assessment and management.
  • Knowledge of security and parking technologies and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with other executives and departments.
