Position and Department Overview You will have staff reporting to you Full Time; 40 hours per week Rotating Shifts 18-bed ICU with an average daily census of 17. Most of the time we have a charge nurse without a patient assignment. Note: Our interviews consist of a one-hour meeting with the hiring manager and a three-hour shadow experience with our staff. This position shares, with the manager, the 24/7 responsibility for the daily operations including: Supervising patient care services staff to ensure patient safety. Providing high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience. Developing and monitoring of the department budget. Coordinating the purchasing and payroll processes. Serving as a technical/clinical resource to team members Performing work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff. Assisting the manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team. May coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team. Our Team of clinically expert and caring professionals includes board-certified surgeons and specialty-certified nurses. Together with support staff, we ensure the safety of the patient and the safety of our staff.
